Responsibilities & Obligations

The Guarantors


  • The beneficiary is required to have two guarantors, of whom the first guarantor must be the beneficiary’s parent or guardian.

  • The guarantors must be Malaysian citizens aged 21 and above.

  • A contract is to be signed between the guarantors and the Carlsberg Hua Zong Education Fund (CEF).

  • In the event of the beneficiary’s failure to make repayments after completion of the course, the guarantors are obliged to make repayments on behalf of the beneficiary.

 
The Beneficiary’s Responsibilities & Obligations During The Loan Period


  • Photocopies of academic transcripts for all semesters are to be submitted to the CEF by the beneficiary at the end of each academic year. The Fund Management Committee will release the study loan for the new academic year upon receiving the transcripts.

  • Upon completion of the course, certified copies of the final semester’s or academic year’s transcripts are to be submitted by the beneficiary to the Fund Management Committee to be kept as records.

  • Upon completion of the course or in the event that she/he is unable to complete the course, the beneficiary must write the CEF to notify them of the date of graduation or termination of the course, as well as provide a complete correspondence address (particularly the beneficiary who studies abroad).

  • In the event of an improvement in the financial condition of the beneficiary’s family, or the receipt of any other scholarships or study loans, the beneficiary must take the initiative to write the Fund Management Committee to cease receiving the CEF loan.

 
Cancellation of Loan


The CEF reserves the right to terminate and recall the loan released to the beneficiary under the following circumstances:

  • The beneficiary has submitted application details that are inaccurate.

  • he beneficiary is transferred to another institution, or has switched courses, or has terminated the course without first getting the letter of approval from the Fund Management Committee.

  • the beneficiary has neglected his/her studies, failed in examinations or is retained.

  • the beneficiary is expelled.

  • the beneficiary is involved or has participated in activities that are against the institution’s rules and regulations, or in activities that are against the law of the country where the course is undertaken.

  • the beneficiary is involved in activities that are against the Universities & University Colleges Act.
